English Studio Opera

ENGLISH STUDIO OPERA

English Studio Opera is a new opera group formed by Roy Wales specialising in small-scale opera productions and musical projects.  It employs both experienced and young opera singers who have already worked with many of the major companies in the UK and abroad.

For this Festival Opera Dinner and Sounds of Musicals Dinner, English Studio Opera is delighted to showcase the Ghanaian soprano, Margaret Ferguson, who currently lives in Manchester and has appeared in numerous opera productions in the city; Annie Josephine Lower  (soprano) who has sung for Opera Queensland in Australia but now lives in London; her husband Mattias Lower (tenor), also of Opera Queensland, Opera Australia and Opera South Australia; Suffolk-based tenor Richard Reaville who has established an international career, also appearing with English National Opera and Glydebourne; Paul Sherrell, who is a former member of Opéra Nord and Paris Opera and now lives in Paris.

The accompanists for these two events are Margaret Copestake (Opera Dinner) who is a Royal Academy of Music graduate and now lives with her husband, John, in Rottingdean and Essex-based Tim Rhys-Morgan (Sounds of Musicals) who has worked with several opera companies including Rug Opera and the Southend Operatic and Dramatic Society.  Further information about Studio Opera can be obtained from the Administrator 01273 300894.
