John Torry
JOHN TORRY (Tenor)
John Torry, a resident of Rottingdean for the past 24 years, has taken leading tenor roles in various Gilbert & Sullivan productions, including The Defendant, Frederic, Ralph Rackstraw and Nanki Pooh, and performed in pantomime in Rottingdean and Ovingdean and in operas with New Sussex Opera.
In recent years, he has performed Mendelssohn’s Elijah and Haydn’s Nelson Mass with Pro Musica and Handel’s Messiah with Ovingdean Singers. He currently sings with New Sussex Singers, Ovingdean Singers and a number of other local choirs, and is singer in and organiser of the annual Grange Singers carol concert in Rottingdean.
